The course is a fun day for small groups of people. Who can attend a Skidpan Car Control Course? To attend a skidpan Car Control Course participants should have already completed a Defensive Driving Course and learnt the basics of skid control, preferably but not necessarily with Bates Advanced Driving. All drivers must be licensed. When are courses held? Courses are generally held on a weekend. We can also accommodate organisations by conducting Skidpan Car Control Courses during the week. The course is held regardless of weather conditions. |
| Where are Skidpan Car Control Courses held? The courses are held at the Driver Training Centre on Sutton Road near Queanbeyan. Sutton Road is about six kilometres from the circle at the airport heading towards Queanbeyan. The venue is a purpose built training facility, which includes manoeuvring, skidpan and circuit areas. Only the skidpan is utilised for this course. What is a Skidpan? It is a slippery surface that is kept wet by an inbuilt sprinkler system. Skidpans are designed so drivers can develop cornering skills and learn skid control. How long is the course? The course is conducted over half a day from 8:30am - 12:30pm. There is a morning tea break. How many people attend? Usually 8 people will attend each course. How many people attend? Usually 8 people will attend each course. What is the cost and how can I pay? The cost of the Skidpan Car Control Course is $143 - including GST. This includes morning tea. All participants will receive a certificate on the completion of the course. Our preferred methods of payment are cash, cheque or money order. What vehicle would you use? As with the Defensive Driving Course, Rick wants you to make the most of the Skidpan Car Control Course. You will do this by using the car you drive on a day-to-day basis. By practising on the course with this car you will fully utilise the opportunities to learn more skills and be able to put them into practise instantly. Gift Vouchers Gift vouchers are available and are indeed popular gifts for Christmas, birthdays, Mother's and Father's Day. All vouchers are valid for twelve months and are not transferrable. What do you need for the Skidpan Car Control Course? Please wear casual clothing and sensible footwear (no thongs or high heels). Because the course is held regardless of weather conditions you may need to bring a hat, sunscreen, umbrella and jacket. How do you get onto a Skidpan Car Control Course? Look at the dates offered above and choose which date will suit you best. Ring or email to reserve a place. Then print the enrolment form below. Please complete the form and forward it together with a cheque or money order to the address on the form. Confirm your dates on the form. We ring to confirm your place about a month before the course is due to be run and follow that up with a confirmation letter the week leading up to the course. |
